One Report: AI at Work
BCG, the world's leading advisor on business strategy released its "AI at Work" Report.
Around 13,000 people were surveyed. C-suite leaders to middle managers. Before we dive into the insights, here is a quick overview of survey parameters:
The survey report data is interesting. It can be overwhelming to go through the full report, so here I am bringing the five key insights.
Insight 1: Leaders are much more optimistic than frontline employees about AI
Insight 2: 80% of leaders and 20% of frontline employees regularly use generative AI.
Insight 3: 36% of respondents believe their job will be eliminated within the next ten years due to AI.
Insight 4: A majority of employees advocate for a balanced approach to AI, seeking its benefits alongside responsible use and regulation.
Insight 5: There's a considerable gap in the perception of AI responsibility measures within companies

A new tool that detects text generated by ChatGPT with 99% accuracy.
Heather Desaire, a chemist at the University of Kansas, has developed a tool that detects scientific text generated by ChatGPT, an AI text generator, with 99% accuracy.
Desaire underlines the urgent need for accurate AI-detection tools to protect the integrity of scientific literature from the possible introduction of AI-generated misinformation.
Generative AI support on Vertex AI is now generally available.
Google Cloud is enhancing its focus on generative AI, aiming to make these powerful models accessible to a wide range of organizations and individuals, irrespective of their software or data science expertise.
Vertex AI features enterprise-grade data governance, security, and safety features, enabling users to access foundation models, customize them with their own data, and build generative AI applications.
AI in healthcare: Carbon Health is using AI to write patient records
Around 200 out of 600 clinicians are already using it for both in-person and virtual appointments. The company is adding about 25 more clinicians daily.
Amazon is using generative A.I. to summarize product reviews
Use case: Trust has been a long-standing issue on Amazon due to the presence of bogus reviews.
Initiative: Amazon has begun testing a new feature in its shopping app that uses AI to summarize customer reviews for some products. The feature provides a brief summary of what shoppers liked and disliked about the product.
Benefit: This feature could prove useful for shoppers given the millions of products on Amazon's online store, with thousands of reviews on a single item.
